At Revive Innovations, we have always believed that sustainable design should be as joyful as it is purposeful. We spend our days in the Bristol workshop transforming discarded materials into premium architectural sheets. Yet, sometimes an experiment in the studio leads to something completely new and wonderfully playful.
One of the comments we hear most often about our recycled plastic KRUSHED panels is how much people love the sense of movement and colour trapped within the surface. The way the recycled granules melt together naturally creates a dynamic, fluid aesthetic. We wanted to create a design that physically embodied this exact energy.
So, we decided to take our recycled plastic journey for a walk.
To capture this sense of motion, we developed a brand new handcrafted technique. Instead of our usual sheet pressing process, we began treating our recycled plastic waste like paint.
By carefully hand-arranging brightly coloured plastic granules onto a background colour, we formed these walking human figures. We then melt the entire composition into a solid, highly durable KRUSHED panel. The result is a vibrant piece of art where the material and the subject matter are completely synonymous. The figures are made of movement, captured perfectly in a material known for its fluid, organic patterns.
Taking these custom panels out into the wild around our local area was incredibly rewarding. It was a joyful reminder that designing for our planet can also mean designing for pure fun.
While these playful characters started as an artistic exploration, the technique behind them opens up incredible possibilities for commercial, domestic & interior design.
Because we handcraft every single panel from scratch, we now have the ability to embed custom imagery directly into our architectural sheets. This means the design opportunities are virtually limitless. We can now create:
- Bespoke wall art and decorative interior cladding.
- Floral or geometric patterns embedded into commercial furniture.
- Corporate logos and brand assets pressed directly into durable, sustainable signage.
Every panel remains waterproof, durable, and completely customisable. Most importantly, it is still made entirely from recycled plastic waste, ensuring every single piece is 100% unique.
